Background:

Ross, a business owner seeking efficiency, aimed to delegate YouTube video editing to external freelancers to free up time for his core business.

Although I did not initially specialise in YouTube videos, my expertise from JellySmack, where I honed my editing skills for various channels, caught Ross's attention.

Recognising the potential synergy, he brought me on board to streamline his video production.

Method:

Our process was streamlined yet effective. Initial communication involved a brief email exchange, establishing timelines, and sharing footage.

I integrated lessons from my JellySmack experience to efficiently edit, emphasising seamless storytelling and eliminating mistakes.

Understanding the importance of technical details, I clarified early on the sequence settings and agreed on a 4K sequence aligning with the video shoot quality.

The editing process involved the meticulous removal of errors, with high adherence to the script. To elevate the videos, I implemented colour grading and sound treatment, supplemented by B-roll and animated text for emphasis of certain points in the video.

Results:

The collaboration yielded consistent, high-quality YouTube videos, freeing up substantial time for Ross to focus on core business activities.

The one-round amend phase facilitated a collaborative refinement process, ensuring the final product exceeded expectations.

At time of publication the videos worked on for Ross’ channel has yielded over 10,000 views.
